Start off your visit on the 5th (Fri): look for all kinds of wild species at David Fleay Wildlife Park, then enjoy the sand and surf at Kirra Beach, and then explore the wealth of natural beauty at Burleigh Head National Park. On the 6th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: pause for some serene contemplation at St Vincent's Catholic Church, then view the masterpieces at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of New Govardhana Australia.

Melbourne to Gold Coast is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or drive. On the 7th (Sun), kick back and relax at Mooloolaba Beach, explore the historical opulence of Sunshine Castle, and then stroll through Marcoola Beach.

A neat, cosmopolitan city of shaded plazas and laid-back neighborhoods, Cairns serves as a popular base for exploration of the surrounding region and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as a center for watersport activities like surfing or waterskiing.
Museum-lovers will get to explore Historic Village Herberton and Rainforest Gems Gallery & Studio. Step off the beaten path and head to Atherton Tablelands and St Monica's Cathedral. Get out of town with these interesting Cairns side-trips: The Crystal Caves (in Atherton) and Palm Cove Beach (in Palm Cove). The adventure continues: head off the coast to Michaelmas Cay and identify plant and animal life at Tablelands, Waterfalls, and Spanish Castle.

You can drive from Port Douglas to Cairns in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a shuttle; or do a combination of shuttle and bus.
