Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
When in Hobart, make a side trip to see Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Brighton, approximately 30 minutes away. There's still lots to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Wellington, kick back and relax at Bellerive Beach, see the interesting displays at Mona, and head off the coast to Macquarie Island.
