Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Sun): indulge your taste buds at Cascade Brewery, don't miss a visit to May Queen, then examine the collection at Mawson's Hut Replica Museum, and finally stroll through Seven Mile Beach. On the next day, identify plant and animal life at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, examine the collection at Mona, then take in the waterfront at Constitution Dock, and finally take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Wellington.

Visiting Friendly Beaches and East Coast Natureworld will get you outdoors. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Cape Tourville Lighthouse and Gala Estate Vineyard. Spend the 27th (Thu) exploring nature at Freycinet National Park. There's much more to do: walk along Wineglass Bay Lookout, relax in the rural setting at Freycinet Marine Farm, get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour.
