Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Venture out of the city with trips to Bluff Knoll (in Stirling Range National Park), Greens Pool (in Denmark) and Castle Rock (in Porongurup National Park). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, get your game on at GT Karting Albany, make a trip to Albany Wind Farm, and take in the dramatic natural features at The Gap and Natural Bridge.

Margaret River

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.

Exmouth

Exmouth is a town on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia. Kick off your visit on the 15th (Mon): find your balance on the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, explore the gorgeous colors at Ningaloo Reef, and then meet some fierce fish with a shark diving experience.
