Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Cottesloe Beach and Challenger Beach. Get some historical perspective at Fremantle Prison and St Patrick's Basilica. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Fremantle: Rockingham (Penguin Island & Rockingham Beach) and Mandurah Cruises (in Mandurah). A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.

Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
We've included these beaches for you: Cheynes Beach and Nanarup Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Little Beach and Middleton Beach. Go for a jaunt from Albany to Kronkup to see Cosy Corner Beach about 32 minutes away. The adventure continues: see the interesting displays at National Anzac Centre, appreciate the history behind Desert Mounted Corps Memorial, admire all the interesting features of Replica of the Brig Amity, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Misery Beach.
