Margaret River

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Venture out of the city with trips to Jewel Cave (in Augusta), Meelup Beach (in Dunsborough) and Busselton Jetty (in Busselton). Spend the 21st (Sun) on a tasty journey with a beer tour and tasting. Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Bring the kids along to Greens Pool and Middleton Beach. Step out of Albany with an excursion to Elephant Rocks in Denmark--about 1 hour away. There's much more to do: examine the collection at National Anzac Centre, look for all kinds of wild species at Albany Heritage Park, explore the striking landscape at The Gap and Natural Bridge, and admire the striking features of The Church of Saint John the Evangelist.

Traveling by car from Margaret River to Albany takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. In April, plan for daily highs up to 25°C, and evening lows to 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Esperance.

Esperance is a town in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, on the Southern Ocean coastline approximately 720km east-southeast of the state capital, Perth. Family-friendly places like Cape Le Grand National Park and Salmon Beach will thrill your kids. Broome

A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Cable Beach and Nature & Wildlife Tours. And it doesn't end there: take in the dramatic natural features at Gantheaume Point, look for all kinds of wild species at Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park and Animal Refuge, get engrossed in the history at Broome Historical Museum, and make a trip to Buddha Sanctuary.
