The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Spend the 1st (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 5th (Wed) at Darwin Waterfront. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Defence of Darwin Experience, take an in-depth tour of RFDS Darwin Tourist Facility, take in the waterfront at Darwin Wharf Precinct, and take in the dramatic natural features at Berry Springs Nature Park.

Brisbane to Darwin is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Brisbane in May: high temperatures in Darwin hover around 38°C and lows are around 26°C.
