Snaking up the side of a rounded, tree-dotted hill, Hobart sits between Tasmania’s sprawling mountains and the vast estuary of the River Derwent.
Start off your visit on the 21st (Sun): take in nature's colorful creations at Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, then look for all kinds of wild species at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, then stop by The Sensory Tasmania, and finally snap pictures at Richmond Bridge. On your second day here, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Wellington, steep yourself in history at Cascades Female Factory Historic Site, examine the collection at Mawson's Hut Replica Museum, then take in the waterfront at Constitution Dock, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of Battery Point Sculpture Trail.

Melbourne to Hobart is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry and bus. In April in Hobart, expect temperatures between 21°C during the day and 9°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Mon) so you can go by car to Coles Bay.
