Brisbane to Hobart is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or do a combination of car and ferry. Traveling from Brisbane in August, expect Hobart to be a bit cooler, temps between 15°C and 4°C. You will leave for Eaglehawk Neck on the 13th (Tue).

Overlooking one of Tasmania's most scenic strips of coastline and serving as the gateway to Freycinet National Park, Coles Bay is home to just 500 permanent residents.
Step off the beaten path and head to Honeymoon Bay and Freycinet National Park. Relax by the water at Wineglass Bay and Friendly Beaches. Take a break from Coles Bay with a short trip to Spring Vale Wines in Cranbrook, about 34 minutes away. There's more to do: learn about winemaking at Devil's Corner Cellar Door and visit a coastal fixture at Cape Tourville Lighthouse.

Traveling by car from Eaglehawk Neck to Coles Bay takes 2.5 hours. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) to allow time to drive to Launceston.

Lying in the Tamar Valley and surrounded by forested hills, the grid-patterned city of Launceston boasts shaded avenues, vibrant street life, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.
On the 18th (Sun), look for all kinds of wild species at Cataract Gorge Reserve, contemplate the long history of Brickendon Colonial Farm Village, and then admire the sheer force of Liffey Falls. Keep things going the next day: admire the sheer force of Lilydale Falls, then learn about winemaking at Holm Oak Vineyards, then learn about winemaking at Tamar Ridge Cellar Door, and finally identify plant and animal life at Tamar Island Wetlands.

Drive from Coles Bay to Launceston in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and bus; or take a bus. In August in Launceston, expect temperatures between 13°C during the day and 1°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
